Not fun is tedious repetitive activities which are coded into a game. Not fun chores are required to advance in the game or to move on to more interesting activities. For example, one MUD has a training room where one learns martial arts skills by practicing them. Full proficiency is a matter of real-time months in the practice room.

In most multiplayer RPG situations this is known as "grinding," and is what the vast majority of players consider "fun."

Practice makes perfectEdit

Power players love the benefits that come from years of patiently acquiring experience points or skills in this way and spend years of real life at it.
